Vaccine eligibility

To confirm your eligibility for a COVID-19 vaccination, please check the Australian Government's Vaccine Eligibility Checker.

Under Australian guidelines, the following groups are not eligible to receive a Pfizer vaccination:

  • Children under the age of 12
  • Those who have received a flu vaccination within 7 days prior to their vaccination appointment

Sonic Healthcare Vaccinations is providing COVID-19 vaccinations for NSW residents aged 40 - 60 via our dedicated Sydney CBD vaccination hub. Subject to availability, we do offer vaccinations for those 18 years and over. 

Please note: all eligible individuals must have an appointment to receive a vaccination. 

Appointment bookings and cancellations

As your appointment will be bulk-billed, there is no out of fee expense for your vaccination.

Our Vaccination Hub is in high demand at the moment and booking up quickly. Please continue to check our booking site as we have regular appointment cancellations.

Sonic Healthcare Vaccinations is providing COVID-19 vaccinations for NSW residents aged 40 - 60 via our dedicated Sydney CBD vaccination hub. Subject to availability, appointments are available for those aged 18 years and over. 


All eligible individuals must have an appointment to receive a vaccination. 

Please follow the instructions on your booking confirmation email for cancelling or rescheduling your booking.

If you are not able to access your booking confirmation email, you will also receive a reminder text message two days before your appointment. Please respond 'No' to this text message to cancel your appointment.

We appreciate your efforts to notify us of cancellations in advance as this frees up valuable resources to attend to others.

Preparing for and attending your vaccination appointment

Check your Medicare details are up to date, or if you are not eligible for Medicare, you can organise an Individual Health Identifier (IHI). This will ensure your vaccination record will successfully link and show on your myGov account.

Please ensure you bring the following when you present for your appointment:

  • Valid photo identification*
  • Medicare card (if applicable)
  • Proof of your previous doses (if applicable)

*Identification must be provided for us to proceed with your vaccination. Children under the age of 16 cannot receive vaccination under the current Australian guidelines.

Accessing your Immunisation History

You can access your immunisation history statement using either:

If you’re not eligible for Medicare you can access your Immunisation History Statement online through myGov. If you don’t have a myGov account, it’s easy to create one.

To access your Immunisation History Statement, please link the Individual Healthcare Identifiers (IHI) service to your myGov account.

You’ll need an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI). If you don’t have one, find out how to get an IHI.

Once you’ve linked the IHI service:

  1. Sign in to your myGov account
  2. Select the 'COVID-19 vaccination status' quick link
  3. Select 'View Immunisation History'

When your vaccination is completed, the information you provide us is uploaded to the Australian Immunisation Register which is managed by Services Australia

Your vaccination is recorded on your Immunisation History which can be accessed through your myGov account.

If your COVID-19 vaccination is not appearing on the Immunisation Register, please contact Services Australia to investigate and resolve the issue.

Please check the time between your vaccination dates. If they are less than the required 3 weeks, the Services Australia system does not allow you to access an Immunisation Certificate.
